Robert Mamula, CSCS

Rob Mamula is currently in his 2nd full year as the Director of Athletic Performance at UCSD where he oversees the training and conditioning of 23 varsity teams. Rob Mamula or “Coach Mamz” is a graduate of North Dakota State where he played linebacker on the Football team and earned all conference honors as a shot put and discus thrower for the Track team. Before becoming the Director of Athletic Performance at UCSD, coach “Mamz” worked at North Dakota State, the Olympic Training Center, and spent 1 year as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at UCSD.

Rob Mamula has 2 older brothers who are also no strangers to the athletic arena. His oldest Brother Aaron was an all conference performer in soccer at Oregon State University, and played professionally for 3 years, while his other brother Phillip played football at USD and then went on to become a Navy SEAL.

Drawing on a diverse background helps Rob develop specific, effective, and intense training regiments for athletes of all sports and age groups.


Stacy Peterson, USAW

Stacy Peterson, Strength and Conditioning Coach for University of California San Diego, joined the Triton team in the summer of 2007. At UC San Diego, Peterson coaches strength and conditioning to athletes in 16 varsity teams. Prior to joining UCSD, Peterson was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at American University, Washington, D.C. working with varsity athletes in Women’s Field Hockey, Volleyball, Lacrosse, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Soccer and Swimming. While at American University, Peterson was the Sole Proprietor of Acceleration Sports, LLC where she worked with athletes 8 years old through adults on becoming faster, stronger and more agile for their specific sport.  She also coached the Curl-Burke Masters Swim Team along with many competitive age group and adult swimmers in the Northern Virginia area. Prior to moving to the Washington D.C. area, Peterson coached age group and masters swimming for the San Luis Obispo Seahawks. While in San Luis Obispo, she designed and coached weightlifting and conditioning programs specifically for high school swimmers, tri-athletes and endurance athletes. 


Peterson is a 2007 two-time Masters Swimming National Record holder. She was also the 2006 Masters Swimming National Champion in 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Peterson was a competitive Big West Division I swimmer at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she was a finalist all four years in her top three events and is a five-time individual school record-holder.

Peterson is a Certified Level 1 Club Coach through the United States Weightlifting Association and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA.
