UC San Diego Sports Performance Camps
Facilities
Camps will use the Alex G. Spanos Track and Field complex on the campus of UC San Diego. All warm-up, speed and agility work and conditioning will be performed outside on the Spanos Track and Field.
The track and field weight room which features Olympic platforms and dumbbells at Spanos Track will be utilized for the weight training portion of our camps.
The RIMAC Fields are home to the UCSD men's and wome's soccer teams along with the Triton softball squad. Located just north of RIMAC Arena, the large open fields can accomodate up to five soccer fields and one softball diamond at the same time.
The RIMAC Arena is a multi-use facility capable of accommodating a wide variety of activities ranging from large spectator events including ceremonies and concerts to athletic competitions and tournaments. The 44,000 square foot floor is also capable of accommodating large floor exhibits. The Arena Floor is spring loaded employing the use of Robbins Bio-Cushion I and is curtain divisible for multi-sport use in basketball (total of five courts), volleyball, and badminton. The arena is furnished with 10 retractable glass basketball backboards, and floor plates and sleeves for volleyball and badminton. Employing the use of telescopic bleachers and floor seats, the RIMAC Arena may accommodate up to 5,000 people.
Located on the eastern end of campus, between Eleanor Roosevelt College and Warren College, the Canyonview Aquatics Center features two outdoor, Olympic-Size Pools, each of which can be divided into 8 lanes of 50 meters in length or 19 lanes of 25 yards in length. A brand new weight room was opened in February after the construction of the West Pool was completed. Canyonview is home to the UCSD men’s and women’s water polo teams, as well as the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
UC San Diego’s Track and Field Complex is known as one of the top facilities in the country. The facility includes a nine-lane track surface in Triton Stadium, a world-renowned throwing facility, spacious locker rooms and a weight room. Large grass fields and a eucalyptus forest with trails surround the stadium providing endless possibilities for training. Near the track is a state-of-the-art,multi-million dollar RIMAC athletic event center that includes a 5,000 seat arena and a 12,000 square foot weight room.
The UC San Diego Baseball Facility is one of the premiere fields in all of San Diego County. The facility is located on the east side of campus off of Voigt Drive, across the street from Scripps Memorial Hospital.
